Student Accommodation

For some years Elphinstone capitalised on a buoyant market for halls of residence, addressing accommodation needs in higher education and health care.  A joint venture with Bank of Scotland established in 2000, successfully assembled land and funded, designed and developed student housing, primarily in Scotland.

This included properties at Ballater Street, Cooperage Place (for which Elphinstone won a Homes for Scotland Design Award) and Kelvin Gate all in Glasgow that together provided almost 900 student bedrooms.

The potential and profitability of this market segment have declined and the group no longer considers halls an area of mainstream interest.
