Elphinstone Backs Glasgow's Bid for Commonwealth Games

During September and October 2006, Elphinstone has been flying the flag for Glasgow's bid for the 2012 Commonwealth Games.  A massive banner attached to the former Strathclyde Regional Council building on St Vincent Street has been seen by an estimated 150,000 drivers passing the site every day.  The Evening Times reported the banner shortly after it appeared and used it as a rallying call for Scottish business to get behind the bid.

The banner will be taken down at the end of the month to allow demolition of the building to be completed.  The site is scheduled to be cleared by February 2007 in preparation for the new 39 storey Elphinstone Place development.  Undeniably, Elphinstone is making a big impact on the development scene in Glasgow.
