SECC

Elphinstone Land has been appointed preferred developer by Scottish Exhibition Centre Ltd to create a unique sustainable village environment as part of the ambitious QD2 investment project on the River Clyde in Glasgow . The proposal by Elphinstone Land, will transform a 15 acre car park to the west of the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) into an exciting £350m residential community.

A Masterplan has been prepared for the provision of 1,350 homes for families, key workers,  “live-work” studio flats and serviced apartments together with mainstream flatted housing, all sharing the amenity and prestige of an accessible, riverside location.

Outline Planning was approved by Glasgow City council at the beginning of July 2006 and development work on site is likely to take place in several distinct phases.

The sustainable village is part of a wider plan to maximise the potential of the SECC area by helping to fund the improved parking and create a National Performance Arena to the eastof the complex.  The development is part of the £1.67 billion Clyde Waterfront Regeneration Project.
