City Park
By applying innovative and creative thinking, Elphinstone breathed new life into the derelict and decaying WD & HO Wills cigarette factory transforming the Grade B listed building into City Park, an award winning 300,000 sq ft office development.
Over a 2 year period, demolition and refurbishment works were completed including the complete rebuilding of the interior with costs exceeding £25 million. Elphinstone sold City Park in 2006 for £63 million.
MacDonald Holyrood Hotel, Edinburgh
Elphinstone acted as Project Manager to create The Holyrood Hotel, a 157 bedroom four star hotel incorporating leisure and conference facilities which is operated by Macdonald Hotels plc under a long term management contract.
The hotel is situated on Holyrood Road within 100 metres of the new Scottish Parliament building.
Since opening in 1999, the MacDonald Holyrood Hotel quickly established itself in the top level of the Edinburgh market.
