After graduating and qualifying as a Chartered Accountant and after a period in London, Keith Martin spent most of the 80s working as Finance Director for a private family-owned construction and property development business in Glasgow.
In the early 90s he set up his own CA practice and one of his clients was Elphinstone Group Ltd.
Having watched Elphinstone Group grow from inception, Keith Martin decided in 1998 to join Elphinstone full-time and relinquish his CA practice. In 1999 he became Group Finance Director.
Interests are golf, rugby and travel.
Since joining the Group full-time, he has been involved in the following major transactions:
April 2000
Signed a Joint Venture with Bank of Scotland to develop student accommodation throughout the UK. Funding £15M.
November 2002
Re-financing of City Park, a 300,000 sq ft office development in Glasgow. Funding £25M.
December 2002
Signed Joint Venture with Bank of Scotland to develop strategic land throughout Scotland. Funding £30M.
December 2002
Signed Joint Venture with Royal Bank of Scotland to develop 30 acres in Newton Mearns as a Business Park and Hotel. Initial funding £3M.
January 2005
Involved in successful takeover of UA Group Plc by Elphinstone Land for £52M.
