New CITB-ConstructionSkills chairman

The Government has announced the appointment of James Wates as the new chairman of the Construction Industry's Training Board (CITB-ConstructionSkills).  Mr Wates will take over from current chair, Sir Michael Latham, at the end of March.

James Wates is deputy chairman of construction firm Wates.  He is Vice President of the Chartered Institute of Building, and a member of the CBI Construction Council; the Public Sector Construction Clients Forum and the London Skills and Employment Board.  He has been a member of the CITB-ConstructionSkills board for seven years.
