ELPHINSTONE TEAM WINS SPIFOX GOLF CLASSIC

A team from Elphinstone took part in the 2008 Spifox Golf Classic which was held on Thursday 21 August at Dalmahoy.

The Elphinstone Team comprising Alasdair Carlyle, Iain Hannah (Faithful & Gould), Willie Crowe (Arup) and Garry Henry (Laing O'Rourke), came through a field of 26 teams to win the prestigious Spifox Trophy.

The first Spifox Golf Classic was held in 1989 with £8,000 being raised for Childline. Over the intervening years in excess of £200,000 has been raised and distributed to various children's' charities throughout Scotland.

This year, Kidney Kids and Lothian Autistic Children are the chosen beneficiaries.
